I am delighted to announce the formation of the IEB (Independant Examination Board). This is the board that governs examination within our academies, from normal academy gradings to panel grades, to dance exams and judging. Also it will oversee any CIT course exams and competitions etc to make sure everything is judged in a fair, impartial way. Mr Heywood is the director of the IEB, with Mr Glasheen being principal examiner, and Miss Kinsella running the Dance. We also have room for expansion throughout the UK as we are now working with over 300 students across the country.
Our annual Exhibition is booked for Saturday 24th November 2018 at THA Walkden, Bridgewater Primary School, M38 9WD. This will be a no win no lose format, and will give all students the chance to compete on the mat. Forms can be downloaded on the left. Last date for entries Sunday 18th November 2018.

11 of our students went to grade at our recent panel grading in March, and what a result for T.H.A! It was a very difficult, technical grading with students having to show great skill in numerous different areas to progress through the belt rank system. I am delighted to say that ALL of our students passed to their next belt. A great achievement for all involved. We know also have 5 new 1st Dan students, with many students starting in the Dojo Dragon class and progressing through to Junior rank before achieving 1st Dan. WELL DONE EVERYONE! Also well done to Street Sence Martial Arts and SK Martial Arts who also had students progress at the panel.

Congratulations to Leah Roebuck, of our Walkden Academy student of the month for February 2013. Also a big well done to Amy Powley who also won student of the month from Westhoughton Academy.
We opened the doors to our brand new dance school in January. The very first classes were attended by over 30 students, which was an amazing number. Everyone did brilliantly, with parents and students all commenting on how much fun they had. Word of mouth has already spread and we are now already planning to start more classes throughout the week to meet the demand.
Our Street Dance class starts Thursday 31st January at our Atherton venue. The first class is FREE!!! Get yourself sown there at 5.00 - 6.00pm.
The Heywood Academy students were incredible. We had a goal of doing 10,000 kicks over the 4 academies, raising money in the process for Bliss (a charity close to some of our students hearts). They are a premature baby charity.
Well, we smashed that total with a number of 22,911! So far we hav raised £1291.75 which will be essentail for making xmas 2012 a little easier on some families less fortunate. A massive well done, all at THA are super proud of the support from students and parents.
