I am delighted to announce the formation of the IEB (Independant Examination Board). This is the board that governs examination within our academies, from normal academy gradings to panel grades, to dance exams and judging. Also it will oversee any CIT course exams and competitions etc to make sure everything is judged in a fair, impartial way. Mr Heywood is the director of the IEB, with Mr Glasheen being principal examiner, and Miss Kinsella running the Dance. We also have room for expansion throughout the UK as we are now working with over 300 students across the country.
Within The Heywood Academy we run different classes for different age groups. From our Dojo Dragons (3 to 6 years), Junior program (7+ years) and even Adults and Ladies Only classes.
In a traditional martial arts school, both children and adults all train together in the same class. As an instructor, this is almost impossible to get the best out of every student you have. Attention span, discipline, co-ordination and actual goals will be very different. That is why we have classes aimed directly at a particular group, so we can use our teaching skills to progress, motivate and inspire our students to their full potential.
